I lead research & design for a start-up that delivers an automated, machine-learning solution for collecting consumer purchase data within mobile apps. I get to wear many hats in both leadership and hands-on research & design in a small team building something large and ambitious. Through user research we help identify priorities for product roadmap, as well as opportunities for new user experiences. My role encompasses marketing as well as product design. Head of UX, Consumables CX, Amazon, Seattle, WA

I led the UX team for the Consumables Customer Experience at Amazon, where the mission is to make shopping for everyday items effortless. My team supported multiple categories -- baby, beauty, health, grocery, household essentials; programs such as AmazonFamily, Subscribe & Save, Baby Registry, Treasure Truck; and platform programs such as consumables search and detail page. The role was both tactical and strategic, from launching multiple iterations of a new detail page with very specific targets to hit to developing design initiatives for big innovation within the consumables space for Amazon customers.

As a lead manager in Kindle Content, I led a fantastic group of UX designers in our mission to create innovative and intuitive experiences that help authors expand their audiences around the world, and help readers discover new content. I brought a user-centered approach to creating and implementing customer experiences. We launched Kindle Scout, Kindle First, Kindle Worlds, Amazon Enterprise Publishing, and Write On, public beta re-design for Kindle Direct Publishing (still dialing up in public beta), Crossing Translation, and more author and publisher experiences to be launched in 2016.
